A Giveaway!

Hey Friends!!

My last giveaway was so much fun - I've decided to do another one!

I am still so amazed that this one book has had such an impact on my life... but it has! It has radically changed the way I see God's gifts and His graces every single day. In her poetic writing style, author, Ann Voskamp, challenges readers to life FULLY right where they are. A dare to see the beauty through the pain and the ugly of this world.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is, "... life change comes when we receive life with THANKS and ask for nothing to change."

DaySpring Ministries has produced an inspirational 365-day perpetual calendar entitled God in the Moment. It's a small sampling of Ann's book as it offers daily reminders of how to fight for JOY in a world of hurt and suffering.

Ann writes, "Could it really be that joy is as simple as planting a seed of gratitude? And that gratitude is as simple as seeing all as a tender gift? The earth beneath, the rain over head, the stars spinning round in all their brazen glory, God offers it even now: this is for YOU, YOU... gifts!"

Here is an example of one day of inspiration... "Why is remembering and giving thanks the core of the Christ-faith? Because remembering with thanks is what causes us to trust - to really believe."

So... I have ONE of these fantastic calendars to give away to one lucky blog reader! And It could be YOU!

Simply leave a comment here on the blog and tell me ONE THING you are THANKFUL for today! Make sure to leave your name and your email address too (so I know how to get a hold of you if you win!)

The deadline for all entries is Wednesday, September 28, at midnight. A random winner will be selected on Thursday morning and announced via the blog AND Facebook (here and here) on Thursday afternoon, September 29.

Thank you for joining us on our journey for JOY and good luck! :)

I am so thankful for everything God has done in my life since I have decided to follow Him. The blessings He gives me everyday are sometimes overwhelming! And the friends He surrounds me with are amazing!

If I had to choose one thing I am thankful for today it would be my parents. One of the first things I do every morning is call them tjust to chat. Thank God He has allowed me to have both parents my entire life. Not a lot of people share that privledge when they are 54 years old and their parents at 92 and 85! Is I thank my Heavenly Father for my dear parents.

It's hard to think of just one thing that I am thankful for. So for today I will say I am thankful for this day and my husband, family and friends that I love and who love me. I am always thankful that God provides the necessities for a comfortable life, which reminds me everyday to be humbled and thankful to him..especially as I look around and see so many people struggling in this World.

I am grateful and eternally blessed to have a son who came into my life a little over 12 years ago. His life has shown me how to be a better, more caring person. He has taught me to be a stronger person, to fight for what is good and right. His love is unconditional; words could never express that. He's my reason for getting up in the morning, literally :) my inspiration, my joy. I never thought I'd hold a baby and call him my own but from the first moment of his life, looking into his gorgeous, green eyes, I was taken by the fact that we have a great, glorious, mysterious, loving, incredible God. My life is forever changed by Diego.

I am thankful for the gift of music and how God speaks, comforts, encourages, heals and revives you through it. If we experience such joy when we hear it now, what must the music of heaven be like? Chords, choruses, harmonies, words in every language all combining in perfection in Praise to the One and Only!

Leslie Weiss...I am grateful for the people that God has allowed to cross my path Christians and Non believers. The Christians assist me daily by boosting my faith, and lifting me up through prayer, and loving comments, or even just a simple thought of me in a day. The non-believers I am grateful for because I believe God places them across my path for perhaps I am the ONLY BIBLE that this person will read and it keeps me in a real moment to try to be a witness for Jesus always. For this and so much more I give THEE THANKS.

I am so thankful for my family. My van decided to stop running and my husband was at a meeting so my oldest daughter came to help me. I'm thankful that my husband knows alot about cars so hopefully we can get it fixed tomorrow. He might not be able to do alot of the things like he use to do, but he can teach me how to do it.I am very thankful for my friends.

I have come to the realization that I am thankful that God has decided that I should have Lupus. It has made me appreciate and enjoy all of the things I have always taken for granit before. Now on certain days I have to slow down even just stop at times. But, that is okay. On those days I get to really just get to listen to my 1 daughter ( who is still at home with me) and my husband and play board games with them and just talk. Seems like at times we are all going different directions in light speed and never fully take a break. God always knows what we need how we are going to get what we need. If it means we have to have pain at times, so be it! I know it is nothing in comparrison to the pain he has dealt with for our sins and our constant rejection of him at times. ...lewisfick@yahoo.com
